BakeAFy ~ A Cake Bar
ABOUT THE BAKER
Rontavia Sturn
I create, design, and customize cakes, icing, cookies, and treats. My flavors will make you feel like you are experiencing a taste test in your grandmother's kitchen. That's right homemade baby!!!
Since the age of six, I have been baking and cooking alongside my mother and grandmother, where many of my recipes originate. When my mother died on July 14, 2011 from cancer, I missed her so much I had to find something to focus on to help ease the pain of missing her. I started baking giant baskets of cakes, cookies and treats to give them away for birthday gifts and Christmas presents. I started Wilton Cake Decorating courses at AJ Confectioner, and Confetti instructed by Ms. Betty Culpepper. I always had great recipes, but I found out I had the skills to smooth icing on a cake and create and decorate whatever I could imagine. I completed courses 1-3 and learned from trial and error. Baking and decorating gave me a sense of peace and calmness, not to mention how friends and family loved my creations and flavors. I wanted to start a business, but my path seemed so long since I was working a full-time job, just started college, and being a full-time wife and mother.
My business officially started in 2019. I have a Bachelors in Business Administration with a minor in Supply Chain Management from FVSU and a Masters in Business Administration from Wesleyan College. I am Serve Safe certified in safe food handling. I have a Cottage food license from the Georgia Department of Agriculture. I would be remiss to leave off The Hard Knocks School of Clean from Rosalyn and Annie Maude's kitchen, where I learned to keep a clean kitchen...LOL!

After tackling life's roller coaster, I found my way back to what my mother and grandmother invested in me from my childhood. Now I am making my cake baking dreams come true!!
